According to Qasem Noudeh-Farahani, the head of Tehran Guilds Chamber, the decision was taken after a video went viral on social media, showing a shoe and bag store’s sale attracting a large crowd of buyers in western Tehran.
“Over the past months, supervisors of Tehran Guild Chamber have conducted 112,700 inspections to ensure safe conditions in accordance with health protocols to combat coronavirus. A total of 9,700 businesses have been introduced to the 'Tazirat' organization [a judiciary-affiliated body dealing with trading offenses],” he was quoted as saying by Fars News Agency.
