Exports From Semnan Province Near $190m

EghtesadOnline: A total of 166,533 tons of commodities worth $189 million were exported from Semnan Province to 45 countries during the first eight months of the current Iranian year (March 20-Nov. 20), showing a 9% decline and an 11% increase in weight and value respectively compared with the similar period of last year.

According to Ali Sadeddin, the head of Semnan Customs Administration, light hydrocarbons, land cables, sodium hydroxide, plastic products, washing machine powder, refined lead, silicon, sodium carbonate, evaporative coolers, chocolate and different types of pastry were the main export products.

Sadeddin noted that imports over the same period stood at 9,551 tons worth $39.95 million, indicating a 21% fall and a 22% rise in volume and value respectively year-on-year.

“The imports, which came from 16 countries, mainly included electric machinery and equipment, pastry, cocoa and chocolate production machinery, LCDs, transformer, electrostatic converters, electricity inducers and combed cotton,” he was quoted as saying by IRNA.
