Sistan-Baluchestan Exports Earn Over $1 Billion

EghtesadOnline: A total of 3.22 million tons of commodities worth $1.14 billion were exported from Sistan-Baluchestan Province during the first 10 months of the current Iranian year (March 20, 2020-Jan. 19).

“Some 1.09 million tons of the overall volume of goods worth $331 million were exported from the province’s border crossings and markets, namely Milak, Mirjaveh, Zahedan, Chabahar, Pishin, Gamshad, Kuhak, Jalq and Rimdan, showing a 5% decline in both weight and value compared with the similar period of last year. The remaining 2.12 million tons worth $782 million were exported through customs offices and border markets of other Iranian provinces, with both figures registering a YOY fall of 23%,” Mohammad Ali Khashi, a local official, was quoted as saying by IRNA.

The exports included cement, fruit and vegetable, coriander seeds, liquefied gas, tiles, ceramics, iron and steel products and cyclic hydrocarbons.

Pakistan, Afghanistan, Oman, the UAE, India and Iraq were the main destinations.

Close to 1.16 million tons of products worth $609 million were imported into the province during the same period, showing a 16% rise and a 35% decline in weight and value respectively.

Rice, wheat, barley, field corn, mangoes, sugar and sesame seeds were the main imported commodities.

Russia, Germany, Brazil, Pakistan, India, Australia and China were the main exporters.
