The company’s output during the 10th month of the current fiscal year (Dec. 21-Jan. 19) decreased by 7% to reach 682,544 tons.

South Kaveh Steel Company with 1.09 million tons (up 11% YoY), Chadormalu Steel Company with 832,495 tons (down 1% YOY) and Khorasan Steel Company with 780,881 tons (down 16% YOY) were other main producers of semi-finished steel products during the 10 months to Jan. 19.
South Kaveh Steel Company ranked fourth in terms of monthly semis output during the month, which stood at 131,312 tons, up 41%. Chadormalu Steel Company followed with 87,025 tons of semis output during the month, marking a 4% decrease YOY.
The heavyweight Iranian steel mills under the IMIDRO study collectively produced 18.75 million tons of semi-finished products in the first 10 months of the current fiscal year, recording a 7% growth year-on-year.
A total of 2 million tons of semi-finished steel were produced by these mills during the 10th month of the fiscal year, up 9% year-on-year.
In terms of production of finished products, MSC was followed by ESCO with 1.866 million tons (3% lower than the same period of last year).
Other key producers of finished products were Khorasan Steel Company, Bonab Sheet Company, Ahvaz Rolling and Pipe Manufacturing Company, Azarbaijan Steel Company, Sirjan Steel Company and INSIG.
A total of 12.14 million tons of finished steel products, including hot- and cold-rolled coils, rebar, beams, pipes, wide and galvanized sheets, were produced by the heavyweights during the first 10 months of the year, up 2% YOY.
Heavyweights' output of finished steel products amounted to 1.139 million tons in the 10th fiscal month to register a 6% decrease YOY.
The aggregate annual capacity of Iranian steel companies reached 39.82 million tons, according to new data released by the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization.
Presently, there are 84 steel mills in Iran.
Mobarakeh Steel Company, Iran’s biggest steelmaker, accounts for 18% of the total production capacity with 7.2 million tons per year.

As per the goals set in the 20-Year National Vision Plan (2005-25), Iran seeks to become the world’s sixth largest steelmaker by 2025 with a crude steel output capacity of 55 million tons.
According to Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization, Iran’s steel production capacity is expected to reach 43.6 million tons by the end of the current Iranian year (March 20), while actual production is estimated to hit 31.1 million tons to utilize 71% of the nominal capacity.
