Tehran Stocks Stuck in Negative Territory

EghtesadOnline: Tehran stocks opened trading week Saturday in negative territory extending a long losing streak that has lasted for two weeks.

The main index of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, lost 9,213 points or 0.74% to end trading at 1,240,696. More than 65% of the tickers experienced price declines. 

As with most of previous sessions, the trade value continued to decline reaching 54.38 trillion rials ($216 million) down 65% compared with a session earlier. 

Experiencing a 21.5% drop, value of trade by retail investors reached 12.34 trillion rials, the lowest in 15 months, according to Eghtesad News.  

About 1.47 billion shares valued at 16.21 trillion rials ($64.85m) changed hands at TSE on Saturday. Pak Dairy Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 4.79% to 31,510 rials per share.

Sepid Farab Kavir Steel manufacturing Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 3.9% to 21,660 rials per share.

Mobarakeh Steel Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by National Iranian Copper Industries Company, Social Security Investment Company and Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company.

Amin Investment Bank gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Pak Dairy Company, Pasargad Bank and Iran Merinos Manufacturing Company.

 

IFX Down 0.4%

Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, lost 72.5 points or 0.4% to close Saturday trade at 17,852. About 793.22 million securities valued at 65.66 trillion rials ($262.65m) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.

Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Pasargad Insurance Company, Zagros Petrochemical Company and Saba Tamin Investment Company had the most negative impact on IFX.

Gilan Electric Power Development Company gave the biggest boost to IFX followed by Peyvand Gostar Pars Energy and Electric Company, Omid Taban Hour Energy Management Company and Middle East Mines and Mineral Industries Development Holding Company.
