According to Alireza Hadi, a senior official with the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade, the number of unfinished project with a physical progress of between 60% and 80% stands at 12,993 worth 2,890 trillion rials ($11.58 billion); these projects can create 463,000 jobs.
“There are 19,185 industrial projects with a physical progress of between 20% and 60% worth 5,790 trillion rials [$23.2 billion] and a capacity of adding 747,000 jobs to the economy. There are also 28,909 projects with a physical progress of less than 20%; they need an investment worth 9,770 trillion rials ($39.15 billion) to get off the ground and create 1.09 million jobs,” he said.
“In general, a total of 83,780 establishment permits and more than 74,000 operating licenses have been issued in the industrial sector,” he was quoted as saying by IRNA.
Hadi said the ministry prioritizes the completion of projects with a physical progress of above 80% and projects whose products are in short supply.
