EghtesadOnline: Flights between Tabriz, the capital city of East Azarbaijan Province, and Turkey’s Aegean coastal city of Izmir will be established on June 4, according to the director general of East Azarbaijan Airports Organization.

“Flights will be operated by Turkish Airlines every Friday. Planes will land in Tabriz International Airport at 3:30 p.m. and are scheduled to take off and head to Izmir at 4:45 p.m.,” Ramin Azari was also quoted as saying by ILNA.

The official noted that after the end of the holy month of Ramadan (May 13), flights to Istanbul will also resume.

Azari noted that flights to Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan Republic, which previously operated from Tabriz Airport, have been suspended until further notice due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

Izmir is the third most populous city of Turkey, after Istanbul and Ankara.
