Stocks Winning Streak Continues

EghtesadOnline: Leaving behind a prolonged bearish trend, Tehran’s stock market is making a slow advance with the main gauge of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, gaining close to 9% in 10 consecutive rallies.

At the close of trading week on Wednesday, the TEDPIX added 8,443.72 points or 0.68% to end tradeat 1,256,960.15. The TSE’s equal-weighted index was up 0.43, indicating that penny stocks are also performing relatively well.

About 7.28 billion shares valued at 58.4 trillion rials ($233.63 million) changed hands at TSE for the day. Trading at TSE and the junior exchange Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.

Kowsar Agricultural Investment Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 6.72% to 17,620 rials per share.

IRCA Part Sanat Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 9.79% to 17,970 rials per share.

Mobarakeh Steel Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Parsian Bank, Kerman Province Saham Edalat Investment Company and Bouali Sina Petrochemical Company.

Social Security Investment Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index, followed by Pars Petrochemical Company, Tehran Oil Refining Company and Pardis Petrochemical Company.

IFB Up 0.7%

Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, gained 123.63 points or near 0.69% to close Wednesday trade at 18,087.64. About 2.46 billion shares and securities valued at 26.13 trillion rials ($104.52 million) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.

Kerman Province Development Investment Company had the highest number of traded shares as 793.48 million of its shares worth 939.63 billion rials ($3.75m) were traded.

Saman Insurance Company, Iran Fara Bourse, Esfahan Steel Company and Hormozgan Steel Company had the most negative impact on IFX.

Zagros Petrochemical Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company and Gohar Zamin Iron Ore Company.
