This comes as, according to data released by the Statistical Center of Iran, Hamedan Province posted the lowest month-on-month inflation of 1.2% last month.
CPI, using the Iranian year to March 2017 as the base year, stood at 316.2 for the month under review, indicating a 2.5% rise compared with the previous month.
Ilam’s goods and services consumer inflation registered a rise of 56.1% during the month ending June 21 compared with the similar month of the year before, the highest among all provinces.
The year-on-year CPI growth was the lowest for Tehran with 43.1%, compared with that of other Iranian provinces. The overall goods and services CPI in Iran registered a year-on-year increase of 47.6% in the same month.
The average goods and services CPI in Iran for the 12-month period ending June 21 increased by 43% compared with last year’s corresponding period. Kurdestan Province saw the highest annual inflation with 48.6% while Qom Province posted the lowest of 39.2%.
Urban Households
CPI calculated for urban areas stood at 312.6 during the third month of the current Iranian year, indicating a 2.5% rise compared with the previous month.
The growth in CPI measured for provincial urban households compared with the previous month was the highest (4.2%) for Qazvin while Hamedan recorded the lowest monthly inflation growth of 1.3% compared with other provinces.
The index registered an average year-on-year increase of 46.9% for urban areas. Goods and services CPI of Zanjan’s urban areas registered a year-on-year rise of 56.1% during the month under review, the highest among all provinces. The CPI increase in urban areas was the lowest for Tehran with 43% YOY.
The average CPI in urban areas for the 12-month period increased by 42.5% compared with last year’s corresponding period. Households living in the urban areas of Kurdestan saw the highest annual inflation (48.4%) while those of Qom witnessed the lowest annual inflation (39.1%) among all Iranian provinces.
Rural Households
CPI calculated for rural areas stood at 336.3 in the month under review, which indicates a 2.6% increase compared with the previous month.
The growth in CPI of rural households compared with the previous month was highest for Gilan with 4.4%. This is while rural households living in Hamedan saw a 0.8% increase in the prices of goods and services compared with the month before, the lowest rate compared with other provinces.
The index registered an average year-on-year increase of 51.5% for rural areas in the same month.
The CPI of Ilam’s rural areas registered a YOY increase of 59.5% during the third month of the Iranian year, the highest among all provinces, whereas the year-on-year CPI increase was the lowest for Kerman with 45.2% compared with other provincial rural areas.
The goods and services CPI of rural areas in the 12-month period increased by 45.6% compared with last year’s corresponding period. Kermanshah registered the highest annual inflation in rural areas (51.8%) while Gilan posted the lowest annual inflation (40.8%).
Tehran Province
The average goods and services CPI in the 12-month period ending June 21 for Tehran Province wherein lies the capital city increased by 41.3% compared with the corresponding period of last year.
SCI had put Tehran’s average annual inflation rate for the preceding Iranian month, which ended on May 21, at 40%.
The consumer inflation for the month under review registered an increase of 43.1% compared with the similar month of the previous Iranian year. The year-on-year inflation of the month ending May 21 was 42.6%.
The overall CPI (using the Iranian year to March 2017 as the base year) of Tehran Province stood at 315.6 last month, indicating a 2.1% rise compared with the month before. Month-on-month consumer inflation was 0.9% for the preceding month.
SCI put urban and rural areas of Tehran Province 12-month inflation for the month under review at 41.3% and 41.1%, respectively.
CPI registered a year-on-year increase of 43% for urban areas and 46.1% for rural areas in the month under review.
CPI reached 315.4 for urban households and 325 for rural households, indicating a month-on-month increase of 2.1% for urban areas and 2.6% for rural areas.
