29% Decline in Business Permits

EghtesadOnline: Atotal of 65,720 permits were issued for starting businesses by the Ministry of Industries, Mining and Trade during the first two months of the current Iranian year (March 21-May 21), registering a 29% decline compared with the similar period of last year, latest figures released by the ministry show.

Topping the list of provinces where the highest number of starting business permits were issued during the period under review are Tehran with 7,869, Khorasan Razavi with 5,371, Isfahan with 4,802, Mazandaran with 4,634 and Fars with 3,416.

The number of permits reached 665,607 business permits in the last Iranian year (March 2020-21), indicating a 58% growth compared with the previous year.

The number of e-trust hallmark permits issued over the two-month period registered an 11.1% increase to reach 5,550 due to the rise in online business activities, owing to the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

E-trust permits issued over the last Iranian year saw a whopping 150.8% hike to reach 33,044.

Receiving an e-trust hallmark from the Industries Ministry is one of the key factors in developing e-commerce, building trust and confidence for users of electronic services. The hallmark is displayed as a mark on top of sites that are legally permitted to provide such services.
