The TSE’s equal weighted index closed slightly above the flatline, gaining 0.06%. This index better reflects the performance of small caps.
Trade by retail investors plunged 20% to reach 58.84 trillion rials ($217 million). About 10.02 billion shares worth 60.53 trillion rials ($224.2m) changed hands at the TSE for the day.
Trade at the TSE and junior equity exchange Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.
Indamin SAIPA Shock Absorber Manufacturing Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 11.38% to 24,670 rials per share.
Khazar Cement Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and losing 4.8% to offer 19,900 rials per share.
Social Security Investment Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Tehran Oil Refining Company, Esfahan Oil Refining Company and Parsian Oil and Gas Development Group Company.
Nouri Petrochemical Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Iran Khodro Company, MAPNA Group and Pardis Petrochemical Company.

Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, gained 117.81 points or 0.58% to close Monday trade at 20,349.6. About 2.55 billion securities valued at 678.03 trillion rials ($2.51 billion) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.
Kerman Province Development Investment Company had the highest number of traded shares as 159.36 million of its shares worth 165.74 billion rials ($613,855) were traded.
Iran Fara Bourse, Sepehr Saderat Financial Group Investment Company, Hormozgan Steel Company and Saman Insurance Company had the most negative impact on the IFX.
Pasargad Insurance Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Minoo Industrial Group Company, Arya Sasol Polymer Company and Iran Cultural Heritage and Tourism Investment Group Company.
