Stocks Log Worst Day in 1 Month

The benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, shed 27,441.58 points and dived 1.97% for the day to end trading at 1,366,664.

Unrelenting sell side pressure was seen throughout the session and across all shares, dragging down the TSE’s equal-weighted index by more than 1.7%.

Value of retail trade declined 24% compared to the session before to reach 37.97 trillion rials ($135 million), registering the lowest trade value in  four weeks.

About 5.19 billion shares valued at 42.1 trillion rials ($150.38m) changed hands at TSE on Saturday. Trading at TSE and the junior equity exchange Iran Fara Bourse starts on Saturday and ends Wednesday.

Aabsal Household Appliances Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 4.99% to 35,950 rials per share.

Neyriz White Cement Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 4.96% to 41,390 rials per share.

Mobarakeh Steel Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company, Social Security Investment Company and Pars Petrochemical Company.

The TSE company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Iran Mercantile Exchange, Pars Oil Company and Melli Industrial Group Investment Company.

 

 

IFX Loses 1.71%

Iran Fara Bourse main index, IFX, lost 341.92 points or 1.71% to close Saturday trade at 19,625.95.

About 2.31 billion securities valued at 271.45 trillion rials ($969.48m) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.

Pasargad Insurance Company, Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Zagros Petrochemical Company and Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company had the most negative impact on IFX.

Iran Fara Bourse gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Negin Software Systems Development Company, Tabas Parvardeh Coal Company and Atieh Dadeh Pardaz Company.
