Tehran Stock Rally Short-Lived

EghtesadOnline: Tehran stocks stumbled again on Sunday after a short-lived rally a session earlier with selloff pressure on almost all share categories.

Crossing the 1.3 million level a day earlier, the benchmark of Tehran Stock Exchange, TEDPIX, lost the critical level on Sunday and dived deeper. It shed 13,870 points or 1.06% to end trade at 1,291,665 points.

Net capital outflow by retail investors continued for 17th consecutive session, amounting to 4.14 trillion rials ($14 million) for the day, up 310% on the session before.   

About 4.94 billion shares worth 34.5 trillion rials ($123.18 million) changed hands at TSE for the day.

Margarine Company was the biggest winner as its shares went up 4.96% to 2,391 rials per share.

Piazar Agro Industrial Company incurred the biggest loss among all TSE-listed companies and went down 4.98% to 34,700 rials per share.

Mobarakeh Steel Company contributed the most to the benchmark's fall, followed by the National Iranian Copper Industries Company, Social Security Investment Company and Esfahan Oil Refining Company.

Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company gave the biggest boost to the benchmark index followed by Pardis Petrochemical Company, Sabanour Mining and Industrial Development Company and Iran Alloy Steel Company.

Iran Fara Bourse main index IFX lost 137.32 points or 0.74% to close Sunday trade at 18,449.04. About 2.61 billion securities valued at 29.14 trillion rials ($104m) were traded at the junior exchange for the day.

Kerman Province Development Investment Company had the highest number of traded shares as 141.57 million of its shares worth 123.25 billion rials ($440,182) were traded.

Zagros Petrochemical Company, Arya Sasol Polymer Company, Lavan Oil Refining Company and Damavand Power Generation Company had the most negative impact on IFX.

Shahid Tondgooyan Petrochemical Company gave the biggest boost to IFX, followed by Iran Fara Bourse, Takhte Jamshid Petrochemical Industries Company and MAPNA Asaluyeh Power Generation Company.
