Iran’s Industrial Growth Outpaced 164 Countries in 2022, UNIDO Says

EghtesadOnline: The United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) said the value-added growth of Iran’s industrial productions in 2022 hit 6.5 percent, which was higher than that of 164 countries.

In a report entitled “International Yearbook of Industrial Statistics”, the organization put the value-added growth of Iran’s industrial productions in 2022 at 6.5 percent.

The added-value growth of Iran’s industrial productions had registered a 6.6-percent growth in 2021, the report added.

It also put the added value of Iran’s industrial productions per capita in 2022 at $825, while it stood at $712 in 2021.

According to the organization's estimates, the industrial added-value share in Iran’s gross domestic product (GDP) during 2022 stood at 14.7 percent.

In addition, the share of the industrial productions in Iran’s export sector in 2022 hit 47.7 percent.

According to UNIDO, the share of industry in Iran’s employment sector is estimated at 17.4%.

Among the 213 countries and autonomous regions, Iran was ranked 49 in terms of the growth of added industry value in 2022.

In other words, the growth of the added value of Iran’s industrial sector was more than 164 countries and autonomous regions in this period. / Tasnim
