Iran’s Exports to Iraq Up 33% in 9 Months

EghtesadOnline: The value of Iran’s exports to Iraq during the first nine months of the current Persian year has risen by 33 percent compared to the same period a year before, an official said.

Iran’s special commercial envoy to Iraq said about $6.9 billion worth of goods was exported to the Arab country between March 21 and December 22, 2023, registering a 33% growth compared to the corresponding period last year.

Farzad Piltan stated that Iran has exported $1.5 billion in natural gas, $750 million in long steel products, $557 million in plastic goods, $273 million in dairy products, $260 million in metal mineral items, $214 million in processing industry products, $187 million in tile and ceramic items, and $140 million in chocolate and pastries to Iraq in the 9-month period.

Iran’s import of products from Iraq in that period has shown a significant 236% growth compared to the last year’s corresponding period, he added, Mehr News Agency reported.

Elsewhere in his remarks, the commercial envoy pointed to the 47th edition of Baghdad International Trade Fair, saying about 100 companies from Iran showcased their latest products and achievements in the exhibition in the fields of food industries, construction materials, plastic products, industrial equipment and machinery.

The 47th Baghdad International Trade Fair opened on January 9 and will end on January 19. / Tasnim
